Mellor & Mottram have recently completed another successful commercial heating and hot water project in Nuneaton, replacing two ageing Andrews Water Heaters gas-fired water heaters with a modern, high-efficiency solution.

The existing water heaters had reached the end of their service life and were no longer providing the reliability or efficiency required for the building’s hot water demand. To improve performance, resilience and long-term running costs, a full system upgrade was recommended.

Following a detailed site assessment, our engineers designed and installed a packaged plate heat exchanger system, paired with a buffer vessel, to replace the two standalone gas-fired water heaters.

This type of system offers a more efficient and controllable approach to hot water generation, particularly in commercial environments where demand can fluctuate throughout the day. The buffer vessel allows stored hot water capacity, while the plate heat exchanger delivers rapid heat transfer, ensuring consistent supply without the inefficiencies associated with older direct-fired units.
